To access them, simply press the dedicated GIF search button on Android’s Gboard. The simplicity of working on your Mac or Windows PC may seem to be lost when moving to a different platform. There are really built-in GIFs in Windows 11 as on Android, so this isn’t a big deal for Mac or PC users. Having the proper information is all that’s required.

Add GIFs or Emojis in Windows

There are emoji-pickers included into Windows 10 and Windows 11. Additional and better appearing emojis are included, as well as GIF compatibility through Tenor in Windows 11. An auxiliary window will appear if you press Windows + ; (semicolon). Click on an emoji or GIF to put it into your text box once you’ve browsed the available options.

In the same way, you can add GIFs to your document by clicking on the “GIF” button and then selecting the one you want.

The best way to include emojis and animated GIFs on your Mac

It’s a little different on a Mac, of course. There is a robust emoji tool built-in on Mac, however there is no support for GIF images. For Macs launched after 2020, you’ll discover an Emoji key on the keyboard itself. There is no need to hit the key or type Command + Control + Space to get an emoji picker.

Even though the Mac doesn’t have built-in GIF compatibility, a free program called GIF Keyboard by Tenor lets you search, drag, and drop GIFs directly from the menu bar.
