Five-axis OIS and amazing optical zooming capabilities are being used in future Oppo phone cameras

by - – Oppo has announced the introduction on smartphone of a number of new camera advancements and is expected to retain Oppo’s position as one of the leaders on the ground.

The improved periscope zoom and sensor shift technology are two significant advances discussed at his Future Imaging event.

First one is equipped with an optical zoom between lens lengths of 85-200mm, and Oppo Phones with a periscope zoom.. The assumption that the main camera has a 1x zoom setting is set to a 26-mm equivalent, meaning the optical zoom between 3.3 and 7.7x.

While we have seen several phones offering two focal lengths for “optical zoom,” there are not many that do so via a single camera. We normally see a 2x or 3.3x camera and another 5x or 10x zoom lens.

We can zoom seamlessly between the two optical zoom levels with the same camera thanks to Oppa’s continuous zoom technology. The “Tunnel Magnetoresistance Sensor” (TMR) technology enables lenses to move smoothly within the periscope camera type.

In addition, Oppo is creating what it claims a “5 axis OIS” for primary cameras, comparable to iPhone 12 Pro Max, using the sensor shift technology.

Think of this as a telephone version of the stabilization in the body utilized by many current camera systems. The sensor can be moved horizontally, vertically and roll with ball bearing motors and works in connection with an AI algorithm to adjust for any movement. This implies that low light pictures and night photographs will get crisper and will be less shaky.

Oppo states that its OIS technology will be accessible from the first quarter of 2032 on smartphones, which indicates that up to the year 2021 Find X3 Pro will likely be followed.

Oppo’s proprietary camera sensor is another technology. It is supposed to capture more light and minimize noise with a new RGBW sensor (Red, Green, Blue, White). The 4-in-1 pixel binning approach employs a pop-up technique to capture more precise colours, details and light and to enhance skin, textures and contrast using sophisticated algorithms.

With this, Oppo obviously wants to position itself at the top of the mobile camera game and the previously declared under display camera.
