How do the last four models vary? We’ve been using the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max specifications to help you get the job done.

On iPhone 12 models, what’s the same?

  • Similar squarer design
  • OLED displays
  • Front camera
  • A14 chip
  • iOS 14 software
  • 5G

The iPhone 12 models have a lot of similarities. All have a similar flat edge design – although the finishes and the camera lenses of the rear are somewhat variable among the models. The Pro models are more premium, but still have a great finish. The standard models. All of them work on the same A14 chip with the next neural engine generation, however, they are all running on iOS 14, all of which are 5G compatible.

Even though their resolutions differ, they all feature the same front panel with a sharp OLED display with True Tone and Haptic Touch, whilst IP68 is water and dust resistant.

All four of these models have Face ID, which distinguishes them from the Touch ID model for iPhone SE. More about the iPhone SE is available in our review.

On the iPhone 12 models, what is different?

There are a number of differences, while the four new iPhones have some similarities.

Size of the body

  • iPhone 12 mini size : 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4mm, 135g

  • iPhone 12 Pro Max: 160.8 x 78.1 x 7.4mm, 228g

Everything from the four new iPhones varies physically. This is the smallest and easiest iPhone 12 mini (it’s absolutely lovely), while it’s the biggest and heaviest iPhone 12 Pro Max (it’s pretty big but great if you’re looking for a big device).

The iPhone 12 standard and the iPhone 12 Pro are identical, but the Pro is rather heavier. In terms of size, they are middle in the range. All four devices are identical in thickness.

Size of display

The iPhone 12 is 6.1″ (6.7 inches), and the iPhone 12 Max is the largest with a resolution of 2778 x 1284 pixels and 458 dc (2732 x 1170 pixel). The iPhone 12 is 6.7″ While the resolutions are different, the same display technology is used and the density of the pixels are all fairly similar.

  • iPhone 12 mini/iPhone 12: Dual rear camera
  • iPhone 12 Pro: Triple rear camera
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max: Triple rear camera, larger main sensor with sensor-shift stabilisation.

One of the main differentiators between iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 and Pro is the rear camera setup as you might expect.

The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 have a 12-megapixel back camera and an ultra-wide angle 12-megapixel camera with the same performance. The telephoto lens was missed, but in good conditions and low lighting they both deliver great results.

There are three different rear camera models on the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Both have a 12-megapixel main camera, an extra-wide angle camera of 12 megapixels and a telephoto camera of 12 megapixels.

However, the iPhone 12 Pro Max’ primary camera sensor and telephoto lens differ from the iPhone 12 Pro to make things even more difficult.

The 12 Pro has a 4x optical zoom with an f/2.0 aperture, while the new 12 Pro Max telephoto lens provides a 5x optical zoom and an f/2.2 aperture. Max’s main sensor is also larger with 1.7μm pixels, although the aperture and resolution of the max are the same as the iPhone 12 Pro. This new lens is also supported by the iPhone 12 Pro Max sensor-shift stabilisation, which makes it slightly better for low-light photography.

The Pro models are also equipped with a LIDAR sensor for increased reality and better scenery visibility. To sum up, both the Pro models offer excellent results, although the Pro Max is slightly better than the standard Pro, you won’t miss much buying the 12 Pro if you don’t want the big screen.

  • The default iPhone 12 starts for $799/£799.
  • The $999/£999 iPhone 12 Pro is available.

Final statement

Physical size, display size and cost are the only differentials between the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12. If not, between the two models, the colors, storage, camera and hardware are the same as the layout. The 12 mini is truly fantastic if you prefer to have smaller devices.

The iPhone 12 is the same size as the iPhone 12 Pro model, but the Pro model is more sophisticated (although the 12 is still great), with better finishing and various color options. The LiDAR sensor has various storage capabilities and is more affordable.

There are different sizes, screen size, cost but also the newer telephoto lens and main sensor with larger pixels between iPhon 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The model for iPhone 12 that’s right for you will depend on the size of your device and how many features you want. The pro models are the better choice if you’re all about your camera. The 12 pro-max is the one for you, but if you’re just around the camera, 12 pro is great. if you want the camera and a large screen.

In fact, despite not offering all Pro models in camera set—up, we’ve had a great performance on the iPhone 12 mini and the iPhone 12, they are a good way for those who don’t have the higher budget and 12 mini are a complete powerhouse, stealing those who want to move out of a big device.
